NORFOLK, VA — May 14, 2025 – In celebration of Earth Day, Lawson joined the Elizabeth River Project and Keep Norfolk Beautiful in hosting their 4th annual Elizabeth River shoreline cleanup at The Retreat at Harbor Pointe, a waterfront affordable housing community in Norfolk, VA. Lawson team members and family members volunteered their time for a morning dedicated to environmental stewardship and community pride.
With gloves on and spirits high, participants collected litter, removed debris, and restored natural areas surrounding the community as part of an ongoing effort to protect the Elizabeth River and enhance the beauty of Norfolk’s waterfront neighborhoods. In just a few hours the team removed more than a half ton of debris from the riverfront.
Adding a bit of fun to the day’s work were a few unexpected finds, including a quirky pile of mismatched shoes and a surprise appearance by a curious baby opossum.
