NORFOLK, VA – August 4, 2022 – As part of Marla Posey’s work on the Legislative Committee with the Virginia Apartment Management Association, she was invited to participate in Governor Youngkin’s small work group focused on housing affordability in the Commonwealth. The specific goal was to discuss how to increase the housing stock that all Virginians can afford to buy and rent.
In the group of about 25 housing providers, the Governor presided over the meeting, along with a facilitator who kept the group on task. The group was joined by Delegate Kim Taylor and Delegate Schuyler Vanvalkenburg as part of this bi-partisan effort.
Bryan Horn the Director of the Department of Housing and Community Development was alongside the Governor and has been tasked with finding solutions regarding this important topic.
Additional work sessions are planned to allow opportunity to further discuss issues and solutions on this important topic.
